I can't believe last week was a year since the tornado toppled a tree that damaged our house. Thankfully I've been doing lots of work on myself so that the fact that it's still not fixed is manageable. It is what it is. We are lucky the damage wasn't so bad that we can still live here. There are still houses in our neighborhood that are damaged and uninhabitable and I really feel for those families. You can read about the tornado and the major panic attack that I had on my blog at the link in my bio. Everything happens for a reason and I think it was a catalyst that made things much, much worse for my mental health to eventually lead me to feeling great. I feel better than I have possibly ever in my life, and I work on it every day. Some of the things that have helped me tackle my anxiety have been therapy, meditation, yoga, eft tapping, and eventually medication. Healing isn't linear and it could get bad again, but I'm savoring all the moments that I feel great. If you're feeling down or anxious you're definitely not alone. Let's chat about it.

I see it's national dog day so I must share a photo of my favorite dog, Winnie Cooper. She's our foster fail and my BFF.

A view of the living room from 4 years ago when the hanging chair was in this room. You çan see Winnie snoozing on the sofa. All of the furniture in this shot is vintage and it's my favorite way to shop. Or if you're really lucky you will inherit cool furniture like this blue sectional. It was orange crushed velvet when I got it. Recovering an old piece brings a fresh perspective to it. Do you have a piece you've been wanting to update? Let's talk about it.

Remember when I had so much time on my hands that I started making myself clothes? How I wish that was the case again. I made this yellow shirt and love it! If you're into sewing @moodfabrics has free patterns online. This one is the tecoma blouse. I went to the Mood fabric store in NYC last week and it was incredible. Multiple floors of any fabric you can imagine. I actually didn't buy anything, because I was overwhelmed. I need to go back with a plan of what I'm making so I can have a focused shopping experience.

One of our best purchases was this vintage 1964 Shasta camper which we call Lucille Jean. @lucillejeantravels spending long weekends in the forest is my favorite thing and I'm never ready to come back. Winnie loves it too! What are your favorite campsites within driving distance of Philly? We usually do hickory run but I'm looking for some new spots to try out.

This is my superhero outfit according to Dave. 😂 The first time he saw me wear it he said "you look like a superhero." And to be honest I feel like a superhero in it. It was a @nuuly rental that I ended up buying. Now it just needs to cool down so I can wear it again.
