Dave and I have both wanted a camper for as long as we can remember. And the time has come; this dream has finally come true! Meet our newest home on wheels, Lucille Jean!
We found her via craigslist. After many failed craigslist attempets, one finally worked! And the seller was the nicest guy in all of NJ. She had been living in NJ under a tree for the last 20 years. It’s a 1964 Shasta and is absolutely perfect! She needs some work, but we are already making some progress. You can also follow along on IG at @LucilleJeanTravels
She is in original condition and the set up is perfect for us. This end has the kitchen, and a small bathroom to the right. The original turquoise fridge is amazing!
The ceiling and floor need to be replaced, but given her age she is in great shape!
I also want to recover the seating area/bed area cushions. The area above is the kitchen/bedroom/living room. Talk about tiny living! I am thinking of brightening it up with some light fabric instead of the plaid. I LOVE the curtain fabric. The curtains are not in the best of shape, so I may eventually replace them as well. But I’ll be sure to make some throw pillows out of that fabric, because it is amazing. It has flowers and birds.
You can see that she has lived a lot in her life! The original papers came with it and it’s so fun to see the original brochure and fun stuff that she had inside.
And here she is in her new home, until we get her road ready. She is almost there! We just need to figure out some light issues.
Above are a few of the fun (and sometimes odd) vintage items that we have found.

This is amazing! It’s so you! I can’t wait to follow your travel & design adventures. Please invite me for a cocktail in Lucille Jean!
