This year the rhododendrons were really spectacular. I think they had more blooms than I’ve ever seen.
I decided to switch up the entrance planters this year. You may recall that they were brown (the same color as the stairs), but this year I replaced them with white planters so that they POP! It looks so good if I do say so myself.
I also moved the hanging chair to this area and it has become my new favorite spot.
I started doing meditation and this is my meditation spot. It is so gorgeous here, it’s like it was made for it. Meditation is really hard guys, so if you have any advice, let me know. My therapist recommended the Insight Timer app for it. I think the one thing that has helped the most so far (besides the therapist) is a book I just started called The Power of Now. I’m not finished with it yet, but so far it is really making an impact. My brain is always full of worry and anxiety and does not shut the hell up. This has been helping to put things in perspective.
You have to go up these stairs to get into the house via the main entrance. This top deck is a really good vantage point and chill spot too.
This year I added some new plants to my usual arsenal of coleus, sweet potato vine and impatients. I have an elephant ear, ferns and fuchsia. I also added a few rocks around them. The landscaping rocks in this house are amazing. Every time I really study and notice them I realize how amazing they are. If anyone is a rock expert, come on by and let me know what they are.
My niece Hailey was in town from Colorado last week. She had a photographer friend come over and they took some really cool shots on film in the rhododendrons. I can’t wait to see them!
Let me know what you think of the new and improved outdoor space.
