We absolutely love our yard and the many garden areas. But it is definitely hard work to keep it looking nice! I actually really enjoy doing yard work, however, I have been so busy lately that I have been severely neglecting it. This morning we had a couple of free hours and tackled some weeds that look more like trees, and the never-ending battle with the ivy. 
For the love of god, don’t ever plant ivy. I have to say it does cover an area nicely, but it won’t ever stop growing and it will become a life long battle to keep it in check.
Above is one of Winnie’s favorite spots, right in the sun. Below is an area that has especially been neglected. That area is at least 60% weeds.
The tree below is my favorite tree in our yard. It gives perfect dappled light right over this whole area.
