Craft Night

Aug 27, 2019 | DIY, House

Having a craft night is a really fun way to get your friends together to hang out. I have them a few times a year. If I’m short on time, I’ll order out for food (Indian or Sushi is a fave). This time I made a taco bar. I supplied the taco ingredients for tacos and my friends brought appetizers.

I spare no expense for my friends. Box wine it is! Ha.

First we ate a LOT of cheese. Thanks for bringing it Ericka!

Typically my craft nights include a lot of food and drinks, and a tiny bit of crafting. The main reason to have these is to hang out, so if you are not good at crafting it doesn’t matter.

After we eat, we (sometimes) do a little crafting. I tried to make paper flowers and did not do a great job. The paper I used was not the correct thickness, so it didn’t really turn out how it should have. But that’s ok, because craft night is not really about crafting.

I cut out a lot of petals, then tried to shape and glue them together. It didn’t work so great. Photo by Melissa Hassey.

The goal of craft night is really to have fun and laugh as much as possible. It helps if your friends are funny. Mine are very funny, and it was so fun to laugh our asses off for a few hours. I can’t tell you what we were laughing at. What happens at craft night stays at craft night. Although generally it was about things that happen to you or you do in your 40s. We are all now in our 40s. How did that even happen?

Thanks for the fun night Jenny, Ericka and Melissa! Melissa is a photographer and she took all of these amazing photos. Check out her website at www.melissahassey.com.

I hope you plan your very own craft night with your friends. Tell me about it if you do!
