I am in week three of the One Room Challenge. I started strong, but then went on a short vacation, so now I feel like I am a little behind. And it’s about time that I make my rug choice if I am going to finish in time.
So what have I done so far? Well I have painted the floor white, and repainted all of the walls and cabinets white. The room has a few built in areas and I kept the wooden closet doors, but re-painted the painted drawers the same shade of white. The whole room the same shade of white (Marshmallow by Sherwin Williams) and I really love it. It is a perfect white and it a brighter white than the previous shade, so it really makes everything pop. It is the perfect blank canvas to add color and texture via the furniture, art, rugs and pillows.
Here is the room in it’s current state.
I also picked up this super cute little yellow planter at a shop on our trip to Charleston. I think it will go well, since a lot of my art has yellow hues. The blue vase may be moved to another room, I’m not sure yet. And I need to find a cute small plant for this pot.
The article bed we bougth is so divine. I’ll wait for the full reveal to show you all of it, but here are it’s sexy legs. They are what sold me on the bed. I am trying to determine if I like it better tucked or untucked with the bedspread. What do you like best?

I’m also now learning towards this rug. You can see it in the mood board below. The reason is that it is a nice neutral color and I am digging the neutral vibe for the bedroom. It also comes in the right sizes that I need, which is clutch. I need two rugs, one in a 6 x 9 and one as a runner. I have two options: use the same pattern for both, or use two that coordinate. I really like the look of jute and sisal, but they are not known for being soft on the feet. Since it’s a bedroom we will be barefoot most of the time, so I am skipping them in this space. What kind of rug do you think I should buy?
Thanks for following along. You can find all of the other guests and designers room’s here!
I love that Article bed too…they have been one of my favorite sources lately. I’m tackling my bedroom for ORC too, so looking forward to seeing your final reveal!!
It is such a beautiful bed! It was my first choice, but then my husband vetoed it because of cost. BUT then we got tax return money back so I said WE ARE BUYING IT!
